Obtaining funding from NCBIR for the development of AI / ML tools

GIVT.COM - 2018

  • Situation
    • GIVT.COM - a Polish startup founded in 2017, intensively developing in the area of supporting airline customers in obtaining compensation for disrupted flights, wanted to finance R&D works in the area of customer service algorithms and flight predictions.
  • Project role
    • Project manager on the part of GIVT.COM responsible for obtaining financing from the NCBiR Szybka Ścieżka program. Responsible for launching cooperation with a company supporting the writing of the application, setting the terms of cooperation with the scientific team, creating a general framework of the project together with people from the substantive areas. Supervision over the entire process of creating the content of the application, coordination of the preparation for the scientific panel, supervision over the completeness of the documentation, preparation of the project plan, conclusion of the contract with the National Center for Research and Development, preparation of the financial estimate.
  • Result
    • GIVT.COM in the summer round of 2018 competition Szybka Ścieżka received one of the largest co-financing - over PLN 11 million with a project budget of over PLN 15 million. The project will provide artificial intelligence models to support the operational handling of cases dealt with by GIVT.COM, provide a predictive model for flights enabling prediction of disturbed flights and micro-targeting of affected clients. Cooperation with leading experts in Poland from MIM UW in the field of AI / ML was established and a team of experts in the field of aviation and customer service was created.
 

Acquisition of GTS CE Group

T-Mobile - 2012 - 2014

  • Situation
    • Deutsche Telekom decided to expand its European activities in ICT B2B services through acquisition of leading alternative operator GTS Central Europe
  • Project role
    • Prepared initial concept of the deal for Deutsche Telekom Board Member responsible for Europe, participated in pre-due diligence phase including preparation of presentations for the Management Board of DT, led the Polish part of the Due Dilligence activities, delivered inputs necessary for company valuation and post-merger integration approach planning, headed the post merger integration program in Poland.
  • Result
    • DT acquired GTS CE in November 2013, received regulatory clearance in April 2014, post-merger integration ongoing, organizational design completed, implementation of the new organization occurred in October 2014.

 

Mobile radio access network sharing

Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa / T-Mobile - 2010 - 2012

  • Situation
    • Facing the need for modernizing their increasingly outdated mobile networks two leading operators in Poland (T-Mobile and Orange) entered into discussion to create a joint venture in order to share Radio Access Network infrastructure nationwide.
  • Project role
    • Initiated discussions between top management of the two operators, developed core strategic foundations of the business model, prepared the business case for corporate approvals and provided strategic support for project implementation.
  • Result
    • Improved cost position of the operators, renewed infrastructure and vastly improved network coverage, quality and data speeds after the completion of the network roll-out.

 

Operational merger of two large Polish retail banks

Deloitte 2000 - 2001

  • Situation
    • Two large Polish banks combined to create one of the leaders of the market. Operational merger projects objective was to create a common organization, merge IT systems, products and procedures, integrate sales networks with consisting of several hundred branches, physical migration and transformation of customer data and post-merger support.
  • Project role
    • PMO expert, responsible for supporting the bank’s IT department in technical integration planning, preparing change management plan and work-flow of the data migration process.
  • Result
    • Project created a Top 5 bank, merger was delivered on time and on budget within the scheduled 13 month time frame.

 

Strategic digital transformation program of a major TV media group

MC2 Innovations 2019

  • Situation
    • Major Polish television group requested a market study and help with preparation of strategic approach to digital transformation of the functioning of the Group – especially in regard to TV and digital advertising development.
  • Project role
    • Industry and strategic expert, responsible for analysis of market trends, design of potential business models, strategic initiatives in regard to building new digital competencies.
  • Result
    • Roadmap for digital transformation initiatives related to content monetization – especially in advertising based business models.

 

Rebranding of Era to T-Mobile

Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa - 2011

  • Situation
    • As a result of the clearing of ownership situation and need for alignment with the DT Group the company decided to replace the well-established Era brand with T-Mobile.
  • Project role
    • Provided strategic support for the overall planning and managing of the rebranding. Strategy department had a key role in the PMO of the project and change management. Also co-responsible for the design and setup of trainings that introduced over 5000 people in the organization to the new brand values and DT Group strategy.
  • Result
    • The rebranding process was the fastest (5 months) and one of most successful in the whole Group.

 

Introducing DT corporate culture and Guiding Principles

Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa / T-Mobile - 2009 – 2012

  • Situation
    • Deutsche Telekom together with its subsidiaries worked on alignment of corporate cultures throughout the Group using a comprehensive corporate culture change process based on the Service Culture methodology designed by Senn Delaney consultants.
  • Project role
    • Defined the strategic business context for the project together with HR, participated in Management Board workshops, later certified by Senn Delaney as a trainer. Conducted more than ten two-day long “I’m T-Mobile” service culture workshops for over 200 mid-level managers.
  • Result
    • Better management alignment across the Top 300 of the company, introduction of a common language and values with DT Group, improvement of employee engagement.
 

Creation of an internal Transfer Agent (capital markets back-office function) for BZ WBK

Accenture 2006 - 2008

  • Situation
    • Leading Polish retail bank together with a leading Investment Fund company decided to replace an outsourced back-office function with own Transfer Agent.
  • Project role
    • Manager of a 10 person consulting team supporting the Bank in business case preparation, feasibility study, detailed design and implementation of the organization, processes, procedures and IT systems. In addition, provided ongoing coaching support to the director of the newly created unit.
  • Result
    • Successful transfer of the business from an external service provider, improvement of service quality for the Investment Fund’s customers and planned savings delivered.

    • Company operates on Polish and international markets and is looking to grow its business to new product areas and geographies.
